NFL Picks Week 10
Sunday is nearly upon us and you know what that means, it is time to make the weekly NFL picks! Last week my locks of the week went a lowly 1-4 (13-12 YTD) and I went 5-9 overall (36-35-1 YTD). I'm eyeing a rebound this weekend with these picks.
Chiefs @ Raiders
The Pick: KC -2.5
It's been a few weeks, but we are back with the Chiefs again. On Sunday night, the Chiefs have a chance to reclaim the division lead after they sat in the basement for over a month. The team that stands in their way? The Las Vegas Raiders. Don't get me wrong, the Raiders have done great things on the field this year (certainly not off the field though). However, at some point, Kansas City has to break through and reclaim its rightful place at the top of the mountain. The Chiefs have bested the Raiders in five of the past six matchups. The time has come for Mahomes to assert himself, the Chiefs will down Vegas in primetime.
Saints @ Titans
The Pick: TEN -3
The perennial undervalued Titans have another juicy line this Sunday. A week after the dismantlement of the Rams in LA, Tennessee will take on the quarterbackless Saints in Nashville. The Titans have won four-straight matchups against some of the best teams in the NFL. New Orleans on the other hand just took an ugly loss to the Falcons at the Superdome. With Trevor Siemian at the helm, there is only so much the Saints can accomplish. Asking Siemian to win a game on the road against one of the hottest teams in the NFL is too much to ask. I believe that the Titans will easily win this one.
Falcons @ Cowboys
The Pick: ATL +8
Last week, Denver shocked the football world when the team went into Dallas and dominated the Cowboys at every turn. While I don't expect the Falcons to beat the crap out of the Cowboys, I do expect them to keep it within a score. Atlanta is better than we give them credit for and has played well this year. The only losses for the Falcons' that were decided by more than eight points came back in weeks one and two. Dallas will likely rebound in this game as Atlanta's defense is not of the same quality as Denver's. However, with as solid as the Falcons have been this year, we can expect a one-score game to be the result.
Jaguars @ Colts
The Pick: IND -10
The Colts murdered the Jets on TNF last week and the final score indicates it was closer than it really was. Indianapolis gets the lowly Jaguars this week, who are fresh off their big upset win over the Bills. The Colts have won three out of four and all three of those wins came by double-digit points. Jonathan Taylor is poised to have a massive day on the ground as the Jacksonville rush defense ranks in the bottom half of the league. I believe that much like the Jets before them, the Jaguars will get run over by the Colts this week.
Eagles @ Broncos
The Pick: DEN -1
Hey, Denver is playing well again, hooray! After losing four in a row over the course of October, the Broncos have won two straight. The Broncos thoroughly busted the Cowboys' chops last week in a complete team win and now return home to take on the Eagles. The Eagles have managed just two wins since the first week and both came against lowly opponents (Panthers and Lions). Against winning record teams, Philidelphia is 0-5 and has an average margin of defeat of 10.4 points. The Eagles have no business stealing a game in Mile High and should fall to suddenly hot again Broncos.
The Best of the Rest:
Ravens @ Dolphins: BAL -8.5
Browns @ Patriots: NE -2.5
Bills @ Jets: NYJ +13
Lions @ Steelers: DET +6
Buccaneers @ The Football Team: BUC -10
Panthers @ Cardinals: CAR +8.5
Vikings @ Chargers: MIN +3
Seahawks @ Packers: GB -3
Rams @ 49ers: LAR -3.5
